Connections Weekly Newz‏

My Fellow Connections Members, Leaders and Friends

We will begin a new series called The Story this Sunday at 9am in Rm208. Each of us has a story. We have families, fall in love, experience failure or betrayal, face conflict and overwhelming challenges, and long to be loved and accepted for who we are. The Story is about God’s great love affair with humanity – the story of the Bible. Join us for a unique opportunity to read through the Bible in a way that's clear and easy to understand.

Also, we will be joining the MASH Hike with Pastor Mike to Malibu Creek State Park this Saturday. We will meet at church parking lot at 7am. For park information please visithttp://www.malibucreekstatepark.org/ParkInfo.html

By the way, we will be having a Thanksgiving Potluck gathering in David and Judy's house at 1pm this Sunday. His home address: 601 W. Colorado Blvd Monrovia CA 91016. Come fellowship and share your blessings of God's grace and provision for this year.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, Union Station Homeless Mission in Pasadena will be serving Thanksgiving dinner at the Park to homeless and low income family from 11am to 3pm on Thanksgiving Day. This highly anticipated event is called the "biggest potluck in the nation" by Los Angeles Times. We are scheduled to help set up tables and chairs around the park from 8-11am. We had a tremendous attendance to the All Church hiking last week. At least nine of you attended the hike. I had a great time hiking up the hill, visited the famous TV drama series the MASH site and fellowship with all of you last Saturday. This Saturday let's work out all the food we had from Thanksgiving feast with Maizie as she will be showing us how to have a good time playing Volleyball. Just a note, Pastor Rivas's wife will be making "Menudo" for us. Bring a few dollars so we can all chip in for the food. The fun will begin at family life center from 10:30-12:30pm and lunch social afterward! Contact Maizie at 626-716-0302 or maizietam@yahoo.com for information.

By the way, we have started a new series called The Story last Sunday. This is one of my favorite series that I have prepared to share with all of you. As I have said last week, each of us has a story.

Also, we will be having a short meeting to finalize our Annual Christmas Party after church in Room# 205 this Sunday. Please be sure to attend if you are on the Christmas party committee. All members are welcome.

Again we had a great attendance at Light the Night last Thursday. It was hugely successful! About 700 hundreds people show up at our campus. We had amazing costume participation, food, fun games and great fellowship at the patio. Again thank you all for being a part of this outreach project.

For those who didn't get to participate at Light the Night last week, you can participate the Operation Chritmas Child Shoe Box this Sunday by bringing school supplies, clothing, health supplies and toys. As a group we are sponsoring a girl between the age of 10-14. We will be packing the box during Sunday school hour in room 208. So bring items that is appropriate between that age.

And finally, we had a great Monthly ministry meeting last Sunday. We had finalized our service projects and events for 2013. Feel free to look at the upcoming events below this email for dates.

That's all for now.

It's that time of the year as our largest outreach event Light the Night will be held at our church campus tomorrow night. This special event will begin from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. You can still participate if you have not sign up. Volunteer registration and dinner will begin at 5:30pm. Wrapping hot dogs will begin at 6:15pm in Rm 103. This Sunday we will continue the Resolve study series at 9am in FLC rm#208. This week I will be sharing a classic story of how to be in the world but not of the world by looking in the life of Prophet Elijah (I King 18).

And finally, as we get into Novemeber we will be rolling out our big holiday service project and Party. So come to our monthly ministry meeting this Sunday after worship service in Room 205 as we discuss and finalized our events in 2013.
